Tepoztlan

Locality of the state of Morelos that in 2010 was named as Magical Town of Mexico for its historical and cultural legacy, and is one of the most visited places in the State of Morelos.

Ancient traditions and wisdom offer you a rich confluence of cultural manifestations: Esotericism, Pre-Hispanic Treasures, Viceroyalty treasures, counterculture, ecotourism, extreme sports, etc. Tepoztlán is a guarantee of traveling satisfaction.

One of the most important attractions is to climb the Cerro del Tepozcteco, and the contemplation on its top of the small temple dedicated to the God Tepoztécatl, an archaeological zone built between the years 1,150 and 1,350 AD, a pyramid of approximately 9.5 meters high, surrounded by its beautiful biodiversity of fauna and flora that you will enjoy on the way.

Part of the architectural heritage that can be visited is the Ex-convent of the Nativity, a 16th-century construction dedicated to the Virgen del Rosario, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1994, and besides the Carlos Pellicer Museum of Pre-Hispanic Art, a corner with a rich cultural heritage of the place, inaugurated by the illustrious poet from Tabasco to exhibit the pre-Hispanic riches of Tepoztlán. In front of the former convent is the local market, where you can get the freshest crops and typical dishes such as itacates, vegetarian and artisanal food.

Every year the Tepoztlán Carnival is celebrated, 4 days before Ash Wednesday, one of the most recognized carnivals in Morelos, where the costumes and dances of the Chinelo beautifully decorate the landscape.
